Effective March 14, masking is optional on the University of Michigan's athletic campus, including indoor athletic events. The change is possible, campus officials say, because of the high vaccination rate among students, faculty and staff as well as improving conditions in the region. The Michigan Athletics Vaccination Policy for fans, which required proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test, is also no longer in effect beginning March 14.
